Sažetak
Knowledge in modern society is becoming an issue of great economic, economic, political, social and cultural importance. Knowledge should activate the society precisely in the direction of economic wealth and prosperity, information and communication networking and cultural awareness and social engagement of individuals and communities. International academic and expert community recognizes the social innovations and social entrepreneurship as a valuable and useful contribution specially given that is based on the principles of social, environmental and economic sustainability, and part or all of the created profit is allocated for the benefit of the community (Zriloć & Širola, 2014 ; ec.europa.eu). BEPA (2010) defines social innovations as new ideas (products, services and models) that simultaneously meet social needs (more effectively than alternatives) and create new social relationships or collaborations. EU funds support social innovations especially new models that accelerate economic and social growth. Given the limited resources of social systems affected by the ongoing and long-term economic crises in a large part of Europe the possibilities of alternative funding of social services that are developing in bottom-up approach are crucial for survival or development of new and modern services. The paper addresses the possibilities for social innovation in the area of prevention child poverty and promoting child wellbeing, being one of the policy priorities in times of crisis and rising social inequalities. Based on empirical findings, this includes actions on several levels: working directly with the target group of users, with experts and with community, through a multidisciplinary approach, which would include individual and group work methods and methods in the community. Through a holistic approach aimed at developing innovative models, activation of existing resources and networking between all relevant actors, is expected contribute to the empowerment of individuals, groups and communities.
