Sažetak
In this paper, authors explore the social responsibility of primary and secondary schools, with the special regard to balancing of internal and external stakeholders’ interests. The roles of school headmaster and the school board in this process are explored, with the specific characteristics of the Croatian school system being acknowledged. In addition, authors propose several practical tools/approaches, previously tested in private nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher educations, which might ensure additional social involvement of Croatian schools into their local communities.
