Sažetak
Paper presents the results of the textual analysis of the sources related to the Mongol invasion of Europe in 1241-2. Special attention is drawn to emotions, both described by the authors and the ones elicited in readers. The following texts were taken into account: excerpts from Matthew Paris' Chronica Majora, Roger's Carmen miserable, Thomas' Historia Salonitana and Simon of St Quentin's account (extant in Vincent of Beauveais Encyclopaedia).
