Sažetak
Teaching and education by means of research is a direct way of studying, tuition and understanding of science in students. In order to be able to successfully learn throughout life, students should have a solid foundation in key areas such as reading, mathematical and natural-scientific literacy. Natural-scientific literacy is defined as the ability to use scientific knowledge, identifying issues and drawing conclusions based on evidence (PISA) in order to understand the natural world and the changes caused in it by human activity and to be able to make decisions on them. Natural- scientific literacy is based on natural scientific concepts that are necessary for understanding of certain phenomena in the natural world and the changes that are caused in it by human activity. Therefore, field work as a form of outside classroom teaching is pedagogically effective and interesting in contemporary education. The aim of the research presented in this study was to identify and examine the attitudes of students studying to become primary school teachers about the implementation and presentation of field work in their previous education. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire. Data was collected during the academic year 2014 / 15 on a sample of 125 students who attended the course Natural Science. The results have shown great interest for higher presentation of field work in regular and elective courses in the field of science of biology. The problems are mainly of a financial nature.
