Sažetak
The problems among many cities worldwide is the traffic congestion which occurs partially as a consequence of searching for an available parking spot. In recent years, the problem of parking in the City of Zagreb has increased with the increase in the number of vehicles. The majority of vehicles lose significant amounts of time by circling the city centre in search of a parking spot. The highest problem occurs within the city centre in which, due to the configuration of the old parts, the option of increasing the number of parking spots present today becomes unavailable. For this reason, traffic experts are trying to find an optimal solution on daily basis in order to eliminate the congestion caused by motor vehicles in the city. One of the tools for congestion reduction is the car parking management. The paper will present parking data for the City of Zagreb in general. The existing privileged parking ticket system and its implementation in parking zones will be elaborated. The new privileged parking ticket system and its usage in neighbourhood zones will be proposed as well as the means of purchasing privileged parking ticket in the future. The paper considered every garage and car park owned by the city company Zagrebparking d.o.o.
