Sažetak
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET) represent specific subtype of mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) with some important differences. The key differences between VANETs and MANETs are: very high mobility, special mobility pattern and rapid topology changes. Therefore, packet routing in VANET network represents very challenging task, since common MANET routing protocols are not appropriate for VANETs. Consequently, there are many different proposals for routing protocols that can be applied in VANETs. The paper provides description of different possible routing techniques for VANETs. Existing routing protocols are categorized and comparatively analysed concerning their advantages and disadvantages in different VANET application scenarios. Security aspects of VANET routing techniques are also analysed. Finally, an overview of possible directions for future development of VANET routing protocols is given.
