Sažetak
Classical swine fever (CSF) is one of the most contagious disease of swine according to the List of OIE. Outbreaks of CSF have been reported in different parts of Europe and were following by great economic losses. Coexistently, wild boars also have an important role in spreading of the virus. Therefore prompt laboratory detection is of crucial importance in confining the viral spread. In this work author present the results of the occurrence of CSF in domestic pigs and wild boars on the territory of Croatia in 2007 year. In Croatian Veterinary Institute during this period 124 816 samples derived from domestic pigs and hunted wild boars have been tested for the presence of CSF virus by antigen ELISA, virus isolation and or RT-PCR. In total 519 of the samples derived from domestic pigs and 44 samples derived from wild boars have shown to be positive for CSF virus. The majority of positive domestic pigs originated from the county of Moslavina and from different Slavonic regions nearby the Bosnian border.
