Sažetak
The objective was to determine the effect of cultivars and foliar Zn fertilizer forms on Zn and Cd in grain and other aboveground organs. Three winter wheat cultivars (cv.1 as wheat quality standard, cv.2 and cv.3 as high yielding cultivars) were grown on calcareous soils in Danube region with three treatments: 1. control, 2. Zn sulfate foliar, 3. Zn EDTA foliar. Zn fertilization did not affect the yield but the Zn concentration, on average of all treatments, was significantly higher in high quality cultivar (cv.1) than the two high yielding cultivars (cv.2 and cv.3). The lowest Zn concentration in grain, on average of all cultivars, was in control treatment (24 mg/kg), which increased by 37 % after Zn-EDTA application and by 100 % after Zn-sulfate application. All Cd concentrations were very low, decreasing in order straw>leaves>=spike axis>glumes>grain. Zn-sulfate significantly decreased Cd concentration only in spike axis, whereas Zn-EDTA decreased Cd in grain by 72% as compared to control and in spike axis by 48 %. However, the concentration of Cd increased in leaves by 37 % and in straw by 57% when Zn-EDTA was applied.
