Sažetak
The epigraphic heritage of the Roman navy is abun-dant and every scholar who was writing about it in general, said something of sailors’ origin. It is well known that the rows of Roman imperial fleet were filled by the peregrines, so in the navy we could find numerous individuals from the peregrine commu-nities that had no Roman citizenship. According to epigraphic criteria, there are 78 individuals of Dalmatian origin attested in 66 inscriptions.
