Sažetak
The application of single Fourier series in the stress analysis of thin-walled beams according to the elementary theory of bending as well as the plane theory of elasticity is considered. Prismatic continuous beams with simple closed cross section are analyzed. Uniformly distributed loads are assumed, symmetrically and antisymmetrically distributed in the longitudinal direction. The results of the exact methods of the theory of elasticity are compared to the approximate analytical solutions. The problem of isolated beams is specially discussed utilizing these two methods. The obtained results are particularly suitable for parametric studies of thin-walled structures.
