Sažetak
Eutrophication of water resources means the enrichment of water nutrients, especially nitrogen and / or phosphorus salts, leading to accelerated growth of algae and other higher forms of plants which resulting in disorders of the organisms balance in the water body and change the status of water resources. Eutrophication is one of the most important environmental issues of our time, which often occurs as a result of excessive use of fertilizers and discharge of urban and industrial waste water into the environment without a sufficient degree of purification. Therefore, regular monitoring, and continuous monitoring of concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, it must be one of the basic measures to protect sensitive water bodies such as Kopački Rit. At the beginning of 2015, started a systematic monitoring of the concentration of nutrients in surface waters of Kopacki Rit. The water is sampled at the same time once a month to seven monitoring stations which are entry points to the area of water masses Kopački rit as follows: Bodorfok (bridge to the Golden beam), Menetfok (bridge), Siget (main supply channel), pumping station Golden beams, Sakadaš , pump station Danube and pumping station Tikves. The samples taken are determined by the concentration of the compounds with nitrogen (total nitrogen, nitrates and nitrates) and the concentration of phosphorus or phosphate. During the analysis of samples of surface water Kopacki Rit sampled over the past months was observed that the concentration of total nitrogen ranged from 0.11 to 1.6 mg/l ; Nitrite concentration 0.03 to 0.11 mg/l and the concentration of nitrate from 0 to 1.39 mg/l, while the phosphate concentrations ranging from 0 to 0.48 mg/l. The highest concentrations of total nitrogen, nitrate and phosphate were observed in the samples taken during the month of May at the sampling station Sakadaš. The same pattern was observed and increased nitrite concentration of 0.9 mg/L, the highest concentration of nitrite was observed during this investigation than 0.11 mg/l is also recorded in a sample of water taken in August, the same monitoring station.
