Sažetak
Soil is in an extremely complex, variable and living medium. The interface between the lithosphere, earth, the atmosphere air and the hydrosphere water, soil – pedosphere performs many vital functions: food and other biomass production, storage, filtration and transformation of many substances, including water, carbon and nitrogen. Soil contains around twice the amount of carbon in the atmosphere and three times the amount to be found in vegetation. Soil has an important role as a source and sinks for carbon in ecosystems. These functions are worthy of protection because of their socio-economic as well as environmental importance. A proper agricultural soil management (tillage, fertilization, irrigation) can have a crucial influence on the emission of CO2 from the soil, on soil organic carbon sequestration and/or soil health (fertility and quality ; CN ratio). Due to the lack of research and our own national data related to the topic of soil respiration (CO2 or flux), since 2011 in the real agroecological conditions of Western Pannonian agricultural subregion (Potok near Popovača and Blagorodovac near Daruvar), field experiments have been conducted within the “Influence of Different Land Management on Climate Change” project financed by the Environmental protection and energy efficiency Fund. C-CO2 concentrations have been measured in order to determine soil emission on both locations, which differ in soil tillage (Daruvar - 6 treatments) and applied mineral nitrogen doses (Potok - 10 treatments). C-CO2 concentrations have been measured in the immediate vicinity of soil using static in situ chambers in different seasons (season distribution) and during different crop vegetation (winter wheat, maize, triticale, double crop - soybean in barley). Additionally, plant and soil have been analysed. The goal of this project was to determine the C-CO2 soil emission values from soil to atmosphere, and to investigate the effects, dependency and correlation of C-CO2 emissions with fertilization (Potok), tillage (Blagorodovac), vegetation and agroecological parameters (temperature, moisture).
