Sažetak
Cored deposits from the Čepelovac-1S well, located in the western part of the Drava Depression consists of different types of carbonate, mixed carbonate-siliciclastic and siliciclastic sedimentary rocks, predominantly marl and biocalcarenite. Among main lithologies, micritic limestone, calcarenaceous sandstone, shale and claystone occur. It is a shallowing upward sequence deposited in shelf environment, with the influence of the sinsedimentary tectonics. Open sea connection is reflected through the presence of planctonic foraminifera which enabled determination of geological age. Characteristics of Lower Badennian deposits from Čepelovac-1S well suggest deposition in protected shelf environment with condensed sedimentation and episodic input of terrigenous material. Beside the occurrence of authigenic phosphate, this type of environment is indicated by presence of authigenic glauconite and silica, as well as pyritized skeletons. Phosphate-bearing deposits could also help to understand conditions in which the organic matter was exposed immediately after sedimentation.
