Sažetak
The subject of the paper is student slang and the morphological processes involved in the creation of slang terms. The focus is on both English and Croatian slang terms and their use by students. The first aim of the paper is to examine student slang terms according to the morphological processes which were involved in their creation in order to see which processes were most productive. The second aim is to determine the possible innovations in Croatian word-formation processes as a result of influence from the English language. After defining slang and its characteristics, as well as characteristics of student slang in particular, the morphological processes present in English and Croatian are listed. Each of the morphological processes mentioned is supported by slang terms created in that manner, which were present in the questionnaire used for the research.
