Sažetak
Wireless power transfer (WPT) using a patch array antenna in the radiative near field and beam steering using a pixel layer consisting of an array of subwavelength unit cells is studied. Most work demonstrated in the literature uses the inductive nearfield region for WPT applications. Although considerably high transfer efficiencies can be obtained in the inductive near-field region, using this region limits the usability of WPT systems for applications where longer range power transfer is required. One way to overcome this challenge is to use the radiative near-field region, where beamfocusing can also be achieved.
