Sažetak
The paper describes a digital control system for the excitation of synchronous generators rated from 5 MVA upwards. It is a brief outline of the system's hardware and software configuration. Some results illustrate the computer simulation of the excitation system. Performance characteristics of the digital excitation control system were tested on a 24 MVA generator at the Fala hydroelectric power plant in Slovenia.
