Sažetak
Properties of warp knitting machines used to knit nets for fruit and vegetable protection against hail are described. The specified nets are manufactured from polyethylene monofilaments and tapes. The net design and shape are dependent on their usage.The net length depends on the length of the farm to be covered. The net width depends on the distance among farm trees. It is recommended to make protection nets for well-known farmers. In that case nets of a spcecific length and width are made. In Northern Euope sunlight intensity is lower than in the Mediterranean. Thus, shadowing using nets is different. Depending on the use of nets and hail intensity where a net is used, nets with a surface mass from 50 to 150 g/m2 and shadowing from 10 to 25% are used. Net resistance to ball penetrating ranges from 100 to 350 N.
