Sažetak
SUMMARY Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, Zagreb The results of anthropometric studies carried out in a random sam- ple of the general population of Croatia are presented. The sample con- sisted of 626 men and 636 women aged 22—41 years. The average height of men was 175.3 cm ± 6.93 cm, of women 160.95 cm ± 6.11 cm. The differences in height between four age groups were significant. The biacromial and bicristal ranges tended to become lower in younger age groups. The length and width of the head did not change with age. By means of the Penrose expressions it was shown that shape rather than siže tended to change with generations and ages. The authors discuss the necessity of distinguishing between ecolabile and ecostable anthropometrical variables. Anthropometric data are presented in four tables.
