Sažetak
Summary Casual axillary temperature was taken in a sample of 1548 men and 1666 women aged 35 to 54. It was found that only 80% of men had a so-called normal temperature that is 36.1 to 37.0° C, 13.7% Had a temperature from 37.1 to 37.5° C, 0.8% had a higher temperature than 37.5° C and 5.5% had a temperature lower than 36.0° C. In women the sd-called normal temperature from 36.1 to 37.0° C was found in only 66.8%, a temperature from 37.1 to 37.5 °C in 26.3%, a temperature from 37.6 to 40.0° C in 1.6% and a temperature below 36.0° C in 5.3% of women. Younger persons were more often found with a subfebrile temperature of 37.1° C to 37.5° C. This temperatiire wats also found more often in urban subjects with a higher education, and better health. The prevalence of chronic diseases was most frequerit in febrile subjects but also in those having a low axillary temperature. The significance of these findings for medical practice is discussed.
