Sažetak
As they became a very power full hardware platform, available and attractive for a very high number of users, smartphones are receiving more and more attention recently, being an important commercial field but a popular research topic as well. In this paper, we present a method to create dense 3D models of small-scale objects. We facilitate the hardware already available on the smartphones thus turning them into practical 3D scanners without the need of additional hardware. Our algorithm is based on the weak structured light approach, using the capabilities of the HTC Evo 3D smartphone (flash, rear camera). The first reconstruction results are presented as well as the guidelines for the future work. Finally, an approach which should be able to turn every smartphone available on the market into a practical and easy to use 3D scanner is proposed.
