Sažetak
Miscanthus×giganteus is a perennial rhizomatous grass employing the C4 photosynthetic pathway. It has been described as having high potential biomass production with a low nitrogen requirement. The aim of this study was to determine the biomass yield, plant height and number of shoots per m2 of species Miscanthus x giganteus grown at three different locations at the end of vegetation season in the third growing year. The highest dry matter yield (DMY) was obtained at Donja Bistra (30.34 t ha-1) and was 20.4% higher than DMY in Medvednica, and 51.55% higher than DMY in Ličko Petrovo Selo (P<0.01). The highest average plant height was determined in Donja Bistra (3.28 m) and was 14.7% higher than the average plant height in Ličko Petrovo Selo and Medvednica (P<0.01). Average shoots number per m2 determined in Donja Bistra (52) were 14.5% higher than the average shoots number in Medvednica and was 58.3% higher than the average shoots number in Ličko Petrovo Selo (P<0.01).
