Sažetak
The paper presents the MFM technology for off/on-line monitoring and diagnostics of induction motor(drives). It enables the detection of many different faults which may arise during the lifetime of the motor. Special attention was devoted to detecting broken rotor bars at the early stage of fault propagation. The criteria for running motors with broken rotor bars are given. The new monitoring is based on comparison and analysis of the frequency spectrum of radial/tangential leakage flux, which can be measured without disturbing normal motor operation. It is completely non-invasive and very easy to implement in industrial and other environments and corresponds to industrial request for the increasing number of applications for which the reliability is the key-point. In this way, sensor implementation is fundamental for the development of industrial methods with a cost compatible with the applications in which monitoring and diagnosis are necessary.
