Sažetak
The following article is composed of two parts. The first part deals with general characteristics of abbreviations, their typology and classifications (cf. § 1). The chapters and sub-chapters in the first part explain and describe theoretical apparatus of the future dictionary of abbreviations in linguistics, as well as practical suggestions for its compilation (cf. § 2). The second part (cf. § 3) presents the results of the orthographic and morphological analyses which were conducted on the corpus of abbreviations in linguistics, and has the aim of supporting the classification which had been proven in our previous research of abbreviations in medical terminology.
