Sažetak
Research of the Church of Sigurata yielded new facts about its development. Obtained were new facts about its pre-Romanesque phase of construction and subsequent reconstructions as well as additional constructions. However, research showed that the building had been erected at this site much earlier than it was thought. Two earlier development phases were discovered of which the first occurred at the turn of Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages, while the second occured in the early Middle Ages, before the pre-Romanesque phase of the 11th c. This completed the picture of the cultural situation in Dubrovnik, about the constuction of a small cult worshipping site at a promontory in the immediate vicinity of the city nucleus. A whole series of Early Christian fragments were found in Dubrovnik, none of them being closely related to a certain building. The Church of Christ s Transfiguration is one of the few moments in Dubrovnik that the two very important Early Christian fragments used in the later phases as pseudolirics can be attributed to. This book does not bring issues of conservation and presentation, that were very interesting and complex. The church was restored by a "soft" technique, by using traditional materials and techniques, by keeping and presenting as many original elements from its various phases of construction as possible. The church was consecrated on October 14, 1995 when religious services were resumed in it.
