Sažetak
This paper discusses problems in operation of HV SF6 circuit breaker during back-to-back starting of the generator in a pump-storage power plant. The circuit-breaker breaks short-circuit current at the frequency <50(60) Hz if during this operation a short-circuit fault occurs. As the short-circuit current tests in the whole frequency range 50(60) to 0 Hz are very difficult to perform, the most influential parameters are analysed and a recommendation for circuit-breaker operation in the low frequency range is given.
