Sažetak
This paper deals with the classification of English and Croatian phraseological units containing musical terms. There are 145 examples of musical PUs altogether. They are classified according to Sabine Fiedler`s systematic compilation of typologies made by Makkai, Gläser and Roos, and Antica Menac`s classification of Croatian phraseological units. The research shows that there are far more examples of English PUs and that the equivalence of these two languages is quite low when it comes to phrases containing musical terms. Furthermore, we were also dealing with the aspect of style. We have concluded that conversational style, i.e. informal, is the one that prevails among both English and Croatian musical phraseological units.
