Sažetak
Many old and rare books and its fragments are present in a shelf of a library, but do not exist in any electronic catalogue. That way, an important part of written heritage is hidden. To have it on screen, as a digitized object and/or a description of it, and thus make it available, several steps should be taken, including defining a list of features of the books/fragments that are subject of interest of researchers ; finding appropriate vocabulary/standard for its description, together with an appropriate metadata scheme, including access points that correspond to identified features ; digitization of a object or a part of it. The goal is to bring to public the most interesting features of old and rare books, and thus enhance the accessibility to and research of otherwise hidden libraries.
