Sažetak
The text describes the "rerestoration" process of the Weissenau type Roman helmet. Preliminary investigation consisted of visual and microscopic inspection, radiography and investigative cleaning which resulted in cognition that the helmet had already been restored with missing parts reconstructed with the plaster of Paris and polyester resin. Since there was no documentation about the previous restoration treatment, in some areas it was quite difficult to tell the difference between the original and modern construction elements. After the conservation- restoration process revealing the remaining original surface resulted in discovery of punched inscription which has yet to be deciphered and small brass spots on a dome which could be traces of the original decoration, but this has to be confirmed by future analysis.
