Sažetak
Recent analysis of the resinous substance found on the ceramic vessels from Kaptol, Croatia indicates that the birch bark tar was well known and used as adhesive by the early Iron Age cultures of northen and northeastern Croatia. Considering the outspread and easy availability of the birch trees, the tar had probably been made locally by heating the bark in a sealed ceramic vessels although it has yet to be proven by future investigations, as well as it's possible use as a waterproofing agent or sealant.
