Sažetak
In the article the role of mathematical modelling is outlined in the analysis of active power and water level control system of unique hydro-electric power plants (HEPPs) and HEPPs in a cascade as well as in the controller design. The parallelism in process modelling is pointed, the goals are exposed of detailed and complex mathematical modelling as well as the use of simple models. The basic modelling elements of both kinds are given. The need is explained for system identification for simplified model-building on the basis of process measurements for purpose of controller design. The basic identification elements arepointed, and the selection of adequate method is made. On the basis of real data the identification is carried out. The comparison is made between the results of simulations using thesimple identified model and detailed model as well as real process data, for the reservoir water control level of a unique HEPP.
