Sažetak
The cult of Venus/Aphrodite had existed in the eastern Adriatic from the first Greek colonies in the 4th century BC and was practiced until the end of Roman Empire. Most cities in the Roman province of Dalmatia testify to the practice of the cult of Venus via numerous sculptures, most of which are from the province capital, Salona (Latin Salonae). Proof of existence of one such sculpture can be found in the writings of Giacomo de Concina, a Venetian living in the early 19th century.
