On the groun of archive documents and other medieval legal sources, the practice of legal consulting in Dubrovnik, Zadar and other Dalmatian cities is illuminated. In some cases medieval Dalmatian consilia bring new information on the activity of a certain jurist or emend biographical data. Further, they are a valuable piece of evidence which help pinpoint Dalmatia on the map of the areas where the practice of consilia was embedded.
