Sažetak
The lecture is a presentation of results of the research project "New Media: Sociological, Aesthetic and Technological Aspects", carried out at the Department of Visual Communication Design, Arts Academy, University of Split (Croatia).This department and the project integrate sociological, aesthetic and computer science expertise in the analysis of new media, with special attention devoted to the introduction of solid theoretical foundations to the field. The lecture will highlight the usefulness of application of established sociological and semiotic methodology to topics such as socially intelligent software agents and web portals as indicators of socio-cultural processes.
