Sažetak
In the first part of the paper a review of the previous work on the surface circulation in the Rijeka Bay is given. Data ana­lysed and the method used - classical method of dynamic computation - are discussed next. In presenting the theoretical mo­del in the usual derivation is somewhat modified and the application of the model explained in the light of the method's limitations. Dynamic depths of a 30-decibar surface calculated relative to the sea surface of the Rijeka Bay, for ten cruises during the 1976-1978 period, are presented next. Ii is concluded that the semicircular surface gradient flow exists in the southern part of the Bay and in the Great Gate and the Middle Gate. This flow changes direction from anti-cyclonic during summer months to cyclonic over the rest of the year. It is stressed that these re­sults are preliminary. In order to arrive at more reliable con­ clusions, further measurements and analyses are necessary.
