Sažetak
The chapter deals with the voting and election procedures in the two elite Ragusan confraternities - that of St. Anthony and of St. Lazarus. The main research questions were: how the system of elections and voting looked like in these confraternities? Did the election and voting regulations implicate a possible oligarchic concentration of power within these institutions? Finally, did the election system in these confraternities occasionally cross the boundaries imposed by Dubrovnik’s government, calling for stricter control by the secular noble authorities?
