Sažetak
Modern organizations nowadays face many challenges and limitations caused by turbulent environment, financial institutions, state legislative framework, increased need for social awareness that initiate permanent search for and finding of adequately acceptable and applicable management and business processes. Apart from profits as financial dimension of business, simultaneous respect of legal, ethical and social values is increasingly demanded. These processes inevitably force companies to change their usual business practices, especially with regard to the reevaluation of their role and importance in the realm of economic, social, ethical and ecological responsibilities. In the light of stated facts, ethics and compliance management addresses newer and pressing risks to organizations. According to the Allianz Risk Barometer on Business Risk 2014, loss of company’s reputation and compliance changes in legislation and regulation represent fertile ground to risk in a business environment. The aim of this paper was to examine the significance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) implemented in monitoring and reporting ethics and compliance management in a dynamic and regulated business environment today. Because of highly regulated markets, an organization should monitor and report ethics and compliance, detect, prevent and quickly respond to unexpected events, and finally mitigate ethics and compliance risk. Monitoring and reporting should be integrated with information flows within the management processes timely and effectively. Since technology solutions are a fundamental component of corporate governance, it plays a critical role in an organization’s success in developing and implementing an integrated ethics and compliance program. They provide management with visual metrics that centralize and manage ethics and compliance activity in an organization. The paper identifies and explains the importance of technology solutions that help to provide consistency needed to effectively systemize ethics and compliance management. The paper intends to give executives practical hands-on advice for using ICT in ethics and compliance management.
