Sažetak
This paper presents and critically reflects on contemporary theoretical approaches and practices of childhood. The focus is on the noticed contradictions: agency vs. social structure, criticality vs. normativity, participation vs. protection, autonomy vs. conformity to gain a general insight into contemporary theoretical approaches, policies and research of childhood practices. Also, to provide a conceptual frame for an interdisciplinary dialogue between theory and practice, and between adults and children with a purpose of mutual understanding. By advocating an interdisciplinary approach, I presume it can contribute to new ways of theorising and researching children and childhood and changes in childhood practices.
