Sažetak
The Roma Early Childhood Inclusion+ (RECI+) Studies and Reports are a joint initiative between the Sponsoring Agencies: the Roma ‘Kopaçi’ Initiatives at the Early Childhood Program (ECP) of Open Society Foundations (OSF), the Roma Education Fund (REF) and UNICEF. The RECI+ Croatia Report includes an Executive Summary ; Introduction ; Chapter 1 The Country Context and the Situation of the Roma population ; Chapter 2 Overview of Health, Social and Education Services and Impact on Roma Groups ; Chapter 3 The Early Childhood Education and Care System and the Place of Roma Children and Parents within it ; Chapter 4 Challenges and Chapter 5 Conclusions and Recommendations ; Bibliography ; Annexes.The RECI+ Croatia Study involved qualitative research that included fieldwork observations, surveys, in-depth interviews and focus groups. Some of the main aims of this project were to collect data on the situation of Roma children and their families and to map out best practices as well as the gaps and hindrances to Roma children’s access, regular attendance, satisfactory levels of attainment and progress in education. Additional goals of this study were to detect and describe the real problems and to identify the challenges and opportunities that Roma children and their families face.
