Sažetak
The study examined the relationship between dating violence profiles, coping strategies and psychological adjustment in sample of 220 high school students, aged 16 to 19 years. Subjects completed self-administered questionnaires: The Conflict in Adolescent Dating Relationships Inventory, The Ways of Coping Scales and Trauma Symptom Checklist-40. Regression analyses have shown that gender and different roles in dating violence are significant predictors of all measures of psychological adjustment expressing on Trauma Symptoms Checklist. All types of psychological difficulties, expect of sexual problems, were more frequent in girls than in boys. Victims of dating violence, as well as subject who were victim and perpetrators of dating violence experienced the most of psychological difficulties. Furthermore, younger age has been predictive for depression and sexual problems, while non-adaptive coping strategies were significant predictors of dissociation, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse trauma and sleep disturbance. These results suggest that coping stress strategies may be important in reducing difficulties in psychological adjustment for adolescents involved in dating violence.
