Sažetak
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is today’s backbone of the modern living. A development and implementation of new ICT standards, as well as its promotion, has a direct influence on quality of life by opening up new possibilities on social level, innovations on digital single market and the sustainable growth. New concepts, programs and services could simplify everyday tasks and protect privacy and secure transmitted data. The program of Digital Agenda presented by the European Commission has recognized the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in order to foster innovation, economic growth and progress. This article is devoted to the role and importance of ICT standardisation and its growing number of benefits and possibilities.
