Sažetak
Automation and informatisation in the process of taking blood from volunteer blood donors has enabled standardisation, as well as monitoring and control processes. Training and specialisation of staff appointed to blood collection enables the implementation of standard procedures resulting in high efficiency and a small number of errors. To establish the time frame required for the process of blood collection from blood donors and how many blood collections can be carried out by an employee in an hour with as few failed blood draws as possible. We observed the performance of two groups of trained technicians in the course of 12 months. One group of 4 technicians took the largest number of doses of blood (10 541doses, or 88.50% of the total doses taken). In the course of an hour one technician took an average of 14 doses of blood. The second group of 3 technicians took 1, 065 doses, which is on average 6 doses per one technician. The group of technicians that took a larger number of doses in relation to the group of technicians who took fewer doses had 68 or 0.84 % compared to 25 or 1, 92 % failed blood collections. The results indicate that the group of technicians who took more doses had fewer errors.Quality indicators that are monitored in the performance of the standard procedure of blood collection are good indicators to be used for the organisation of work in conditions when a greater work pace is required because of a greater influx of service in a short period of time while preserving the quality of blood collection.
