Sažetak
This paper present the main advantages of the Specialized Information System based on integration of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and the database thus enabling efficient temporal and spatial presentations of environmental water related data. The most important parts of the dynamic Web application development process are brought out, applying the modern object-oriented (OO) approach and technologies. Dynamic Web application provides timely availability of relevant data to authorized users. This application enables automatic generation of various report types (such as maps, time series diagrams, tables, etc.), as well as generation of thematic maps based on built-in knowledge and user queries. The verification of this system has been performed using the data from EPDRB (Environmental Programme for the Danube River Basin) in which we have actively participated.
