Sažetak
Three thousand urolithiasis patients were treated with extracorporeal shock wavw lithotripsy using the second generation Siemens lithotriptor "Lithostar". The data analyzed were obtained three and six months after the treatment. The treated group comprised 1554 men women, at themean age of 45, 25, yares.Pretreatment analgesics and occasionally sedatives were required in 9, 6% of the patients. Anesthesia was administered only in children and when ESWL was combined with percutaneous nephrolithotripsy or ureterorenoscopy (66 patients). Among the total of 3582stones, 27, 81% were situated in renal pelvis and pelvicoureteral segment, 39, 29% in calices and 22, 01% in ureter. More than three stones in pelvis and calices of the same kidney were regarded as multiple and registered as a single case (4, 52%). There were 6, 37% of staghorn stones. The success rate of almost 90% was similar to the results reported by other authors, once more affirming ESWL as the method of choice in the treatment of urinary stones.
