Sažetak
Podcasts are dynamic and trending e-learning tools which effectively integrate learning inside and outside the classroom, and thus enable extending the time for revision and a more detailed approach to a topic educators constantly lack. The paper will briefly define the terms podcast and podcasting, and list some benefits of using them for educational purposes. The main focus of the paper will be on the use of podcasts in LSP courses in terms of increasing students’ motivation, stimulating their interest in a specific academic topic, enhancing their listening skills and cultural competence, providing an authentic context, developing students’ creativity, stimulating independent research and supporting the communicative approach in class. Finally, the paper will address some challenges and barriers both educators and students need to overcome when using podcasts as a teaching and learning tool.
