Sažetak
This thesis examines the cross-border cooperation in the process of EU accession as the case study of Croatia. The focus is centred on IPA component II and available programs for Croatia, that is 6 cross-border programs and 2 transnational programs. It is argued that second IPA component is a big challenge and, at the same time, a great opportunity for Croatia. Also, the actions to tackle the challenges, as well as the utilization of earlier and present experiences, are examined and analysed by the desk research method. It is expected for this thesis to confirm the main hypothesis regarding Cross-border Cooperation (CBC) as a significant part of regional cooperation and as such, if implemented correctly and actively by Croatia, will demonstrate its ability to carry out pre-accession assistance as a model for the future use of Structural Instruments.
