Sažetak
The lecture was conceived in 4 parts. First the introduction about the theory of sustainability was given. Then the concept of teaching courses at the Department of Urban Planning, Spatial Planning and Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb was explained as well as work at the urban planning workshop - Town planning. In order to consider a diversity of problems in the specific areas 3 different areas / Urban planning workshops (Town Planning) – City of Sv. Ivan Zelina, Island of Vir and Municipality of Kostrena were presented. Different students’ proposals were selected with the intention to present different approaches in perceiving space as well as problem solving. In the conclusion it was emphasized that all aspects of sustainability should be taken into consideration in the process of planning and designing. The long-term needs and opportunities has to be taken into consideration, as well as consequences of specific interventions in the area, be they positive or negative. Weather it was about designing or planning it is also important to involve public and local community.
