Sažetak
Results of MP2 and DFT calculations on dication 1 and its diboron analogon 2 are reported. Both structures show significant nonplanarity of the double bond in direction opposite to that found in syn-sesquinorbornene. The computed out-of-plane angles are 17.9° and 14.1°(MP2/6-31G*) in 1 and 2 respectively. Molecular and electronic structures will be discussed in detail.
