Sažetak
Self-esteem and self-confidence go hand in hand leading to higher or lower academic achievements. As self-esteem acts as a buffer against fear and anxiety, teachers should use strategies to transform underachievers into fearless and motivated learners, specifically readers, because the skill of reading facilitates life-long learning. A positive reading climate helps students develop attack plans to improve weaknesses and become strong confident readers.
