Sažetak
In order to enable the optimal choice of stainless reinforcing steel for a certain environment, there is a need for correlating corrosion behaviour of different types of steel with the environmental loads the structure will face during the service life. There is also a strong need for quantification of corrosion behaviour of these steels, usually defined through electrochemical parameters, e.g. corrosion current or corrosion resistance, through parameters that can be used further in civil engineering practice. In the present research different types of reinforcing steels were exposed to alkaline solutions, simulating concrete pore solution, with different additions of chloride ions. Corrosion potential and pitting potential were used to evaluate their corrosion resistance in a given media. On the basis of the results, the critical chloride concentration and pH value of pore solution for initiation of corrosion were determined. On the basis of experimental research different types of corrosion resistant steel are proposed as optimal for different classes of environment.
