Sažetak
Pettit Philosophy is an Association for Philosophy with Children which addresses the field of practical philosophy, development of critical and creative thinking as well as ethical education. We create many workshop programs and educational materials for various age groups (from kindergarten age up to retirement years). One of our mostwidely performed programs is "View in to One’s own thinking" which is designed for the children of 8 to 11 years old. As the part of that program the workshop "What is beautiful?” was created. Through Socratic dialog, literature, music, visual motivation and other creative methodology, this workshop explores the concept of beauty: weather as our own perception or as a collective consciousness of society and culture. With a help of PPT presentation in which we will have different animal and historical characters that appear in a form of comic- picture book and ask the main questions, we will grabs with the following issues: Can we define beauty? Can something ugly be beautiful as well? If something is beautiful does it means that is good or valuable? Is the beauty material? The main goal of these questions is to raise awareness of our own thinking by developing critical and creative thinking in which we can reflect upon ourselves and society we live in.
